Bodies On The Line

Memorial Project

On June 23, 2017 at The Center in NYC, it was standing room only as journalists and activists gathered for the Bodies On The Line Memorial Project to pay tribute to over 200 US journalists who died of AIDS, and others who covered the epidemic.

Hosted by author and AIDS activist Anne-christine d'Adesky, speakers included keynote Samuel G. Freedman, columnist for The New York Times, journalists Linda Villarosa, JD Davids, Frank Pizzolli, Anthony Viti, Sarah Schulman, Charles Rice-Gonzalez, Mark Schoofs, Ann Rower, Liz Highleyman, A. Toni Young, Mark Burdett, Jay Blotcher, Bob Lederer, and John Riley.

The Bodies On The Line event was the setting for the announcement of an inaugural legacy scholarship to provide research funds for journalists reporting on HIV/AIDS, The Kiki HIV Reporting Scholarship.
